Power Packed Purple Cabbage Stir Fry - Dr. Debmita

A rainbow diet is a fantastic way to introduce a variety of nutrients to your baby and ensure they get all the essential vitamins, fiber, and minerals.  In this video, Dr. Debmita Dutta has shared a simple and delicious stir fry purple cabbage recipe that will add something purple to complete your baby's rainbow diet. 

The purple cabbage stir fry is quick to prepare and can be customized with a variety of baby-friendly ingredients.  

Ingredients: 

  • Purple Cabbage (finely chopped) 1 cup  
  • Urad dal ½ tsp 
  • Mustard seeds ¼ tsp 
  • Curry leaves 4-5 
  • Ghee 1tbsp 
  • Chana dal ½ tsp 
  • Grated coconut 1 tbsp 
  • Salt to taste 

Method:

  • Chop the cabbage and wash it thoroughly under running water.
  • Heat ghee in a kadai, add chana dal and urad dal. Once they turn golden brown and smell toasty, add mustard and let it splutter. Add the curry leaves.
  • Add in the cabbage and salt. Mix well and cover the kadai.
  • Cook on medium flame until the cabbage is cooked and the color changes slightly.
  • Switch off the gas and garnish with grated coconut.
